According to the announcement of the interim government, the 13th National Assembly elections will be held in the first half of February next year. Preparations have been made to ensure that no power in the world will be able to stop the vote.
The directive was given at a high-level meeting chaired by the chief advisor on Sunday (September 7) regarding the law and order situation in the country. The chief advisor’s press secretary, Shafiqul Alam, told reporters after the meeting.
The Press Secretary said that the Chief Advisor has directed the local administration to be proactive in controlling the law and order situation nationwide to make the upcoming elections free, fair and impartial.
At that time, the Press Secretary also spoke about the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) elections. Shafiqul Alam said that the chief advisor has ordered the university administration to provide all-out cooperation to ensure that the DUCSU elections are held in a peaceful and festive atmosphere.
The interim government chief advisor, Dr. Mohammed Younus says he will hold the election in February and that no evil force will be able to stop it. The election Commission has now started preparations for the February election.
