If you just joined TCS or you have been there a while, you already know that Ultimatix is the one portal you cannot avoid. It is where your salary slip lives, where you apply for leave, where you fill your timesheet, and where basically all your work stuff happens. From checking your project details to updating your bank account or downloading your Form 16, everything goes through this one website. But let us be honest — logging in for the first time can be a real pain. There is the Authenticator App, the AuthCode, EasyAuth, UxApps, and a bunch of security rules that no one really explains properly on day one. So here is a simple breakdown that actually makes sense, written like a friend who has already been through the mess and is now helping you out.
What Even Is Ultimatix?
In plain words, Ultimatix is TCS’s internal employee portal. Think of it as your online office. You go there to check your pay, update your contact details, see what project you are currently tagged to, apply for holidays, fill timesheets, and even find internal training or job openings. There is also a social side to it where you can connect with other TCS folks. Only TCS employees and people officially connected to the company can use it. If you do not work there, the door is closed.
How to Log In to Ultimatix?
Here is the straightforward way to get in:
- Open your browser and go to auth.ultimatix.net
- Type in your employee ID — that is your username
- Click on “Proceed”
- Now you will see a few ways to prove it is really you
Here is the thing though — TCS does not let you just use a password anymore. For security reasons, they want you to use either the AuthCode from the Authenticator App or EasyAuth. The old password-only way is turned off by default. If you really need it for some reason, you have to raise a special request. Most people just go with the app because that is how the system is designed now.
What New Joiners Should Do If You Are In First Time
If this is your very first time logging in, the steps are a bit different from what regular users do. Here is exactly what happens:
- Go to auth.ultimatix.net
- Enter your employee ID and hit “Proceed”
- When it asks for a password, use the default one. It is usually ChangePwd@dob followed by your date of birth in DDMMYYYY format. So if you were born on 10 March 1998, your password is ChangePwd@dob10031998
- Once you are in, the system will force you to change that password right away
- Pick a new password you will actually remember — something strong but not so crazy that you forget it the next day
- After you change it, the system will kick you out automatically
- A help screen will pop up telling you to download the Authenticator App
And here is the important part — once you change that default password, you cannot log in with just a password anymore on the main login page. From now on, you need that app to generate your codes. So do not skip the app setup thinking you can just use your password forever. That door closes right after your first login.

How to Set Up the Authenticator App
This is where most new joiners get stuck and start panicking. But it is not that hard if you just follow the steps one by one:

- First, you need to download something called UxApps. You can find the download link inside the Ultimatix portal right after your first login
- Install UxApps on your phone
- Open UxApps and log in with your username and your new password
- You will see a list of apps inside — find “Authenticator App” and tap to install it
- Once it is installed, open the Authenticator App
- Log in with your username and password again
- It will ask you to set a 4-digit PIN — set something easy to remember but not obvious like 1234
- Now the app will show a 6-digit code that changes every 60 seconds
That 6-digit number is your AuthCode. When you want to log in on your laptop or desktop, you open this app, copy the code, and paste it into the Ultimatix login page. Just be quick about it — the code only lasts for 60 seconds before it changes to a new one.
EasyAuth vs AuthCode — Which One Should You Use?
Once your app is ready, you have two ways to get in:
AuthCode: You manually copy the 6-digit number from the app and type it into the login page. The good thing is, this works even if your phone has no internet or is on airplane mode
EasyAuth: This is the lazy option — and honestly, it is the better one. When you try to log in on your computer, your phone gets a notification from the Authenticator App. You just tap “Approve” and boom, you are logged in. But your phone needs an active internet connection for this to work
You can turn EasyAuth on or off inside the Authenticator App settings. Just tap the settings icon on the top right corner and toggle it. Give it about 15 minutes to actually switch over though. During that waiting time, you can still use the AuthCode if EasyAuth is not working yet.
What If You Forget Your Password?
It happens to the best of us. Here is what to do:
- On the login page, look for the self-service password reset option
- Enter your employee number and the mobile number that is saved in your Ultimatix profile
- Follow the steps they send you to reset it
Be careful here — if you enter wrong details three times, the system locks you out for 30 minutes. So do not guess your registered mobile number. If you are not sure what number is saved in your profile, check with HR first.
What If You Lose Your Phone or Leave It at Home?
If your phone is lost, broken, or sitting at home on your bed while you are at the office, you are not completely stuck. You can submit a request through the TCS Global Help Desk to temporarily turn password login back on. Once they approve it, you can log in with just your password for 7 days. After that week, it goes back to app-only login automatically.
If you work at a client office or ODC where phones are not allowed inside, you can also request an RSA token through the Help Desk. This gives you a small physical device that generates a code, so you don’t need your phone at all.
Common Problems and Quick Fixes
- AuthCode keeps saying it is wrong? Check your phone’s date and time settings. If it is not set to automatic, the code will not match what Ultimatix expects on the other side
- The app will not install on your phone? Your phone needs at least Android 5.0 or iOS 10.0. Anything older than that will not work
- Login page looks broken or weird? Make sure your browser is up to date and your screen resolution is at least 1024 by 768. Also, a stable internet connection helps
- Forgot your username? Click “Need Help” on the login page, then pick “Recover Ultimatix Account Details” and choose “Get personal Ultimatix username.” They will email it to your registered address
Final Word
Finally, Ultimatix login has more steps than your average website. It can feel annoying on day one when all you want to do is check your first payslip. But once you set up that Authenticator App and get used to it, logging in becomes muscle memory. The extra security is there for a reason — it keeps your salary details, bank info, and personal data safe from people who should not be seeing them. So just spend ten minutes setting it up properly on your first day and you will thank yourself later. And if anything goes wrong, do not stress. Just raise a ticket with the Help Desk. They deal with login issues every single day and they know exactly how to fix it.
